+ WHAT IS FOCUS?
Focus is a holiday like no other, set on the Somerley Estate, a beautiful, spacious location in the New Forest.
A group of us from St Luke's join over 7,000 others from across the country for a week of world-class teaching, BBQs, worship, sports and creative sessions, Kids, Youth and Student programmes, Out of Focus parties, and not to mention the whole of the New Forest on your doorstep.
You can find out more at focus.htb.org.
There are a number of accommodation options, from camping, glamping, caravans, or a B&B offsite. Find out more, and work out what will work best for you, here.
+ BURSARIES & PAYMENT PLAN
We want everyone who's a part of St Luke's to be able to come to Focus, and don't want money to be a barrier to that. If you'd like to find out more about bursaries or a payment plan to spread the cost, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.

What’s going to happen? — Famous last words
DO YOU NEED HELP WITH THE CAMPSITE & LOADING THE VAN?
Yes, please! The St Luke’s team arrives a day early and leaves a day late to ensure that everyone has a beautiful, comfortable campsite. Would you consider arriving on 25th July, Thursday) and leaving on 31st July, Wednesday? The full Focus program runs 26-30 July, but it would be a big help to the team if you could pitch in.
Alternatively, we would also love loading the van in the days leading up to Focus as well as unloading it in the days after.
HOW WILL I GET MY STUFF TO FOCUS? I SAW SOMETHING ABOUT A VAN...
The first rule of camping gear is to label your gear. The second rule of camping gear is that St Luke’s rents a van to take it to Focus! We’ll sort drop off times. The third rule of camping gear is to promptly take it home after Focus.
WHAT'S A DAY AT FOCUS LIKE?
The sun will greet you, all cosy in your tent. You'll roll out of bed and hop on over to the hot showers at the community toilets. Next you'll grab the cutlery and dishes you've brought for yourself and make yourself breakfast in the St Luke's marquee. Imagine delicious smells of coffee and yoghurt.
You check and see you're on the rota for lunch. Yes! Cooking with friends!
We'll all travel en masse to the Big Top for the morning talk. You head back to St Luke's campsite and start cooking with your team. After a brilliant meal of fajitas or larb or whatever's on the menu, it's time for volleyball. Because it's always time for volleyball.
Then everyone will sort out what workshops, activities, and talks they'll attend. You'll probably find a buddy to go with on our WhatsApp chat. Or you decide to take a break to go on a walk, just chill out in your tent, or grab a coffee.
You grab a pizza from The Village for dinner with a flock of St Lukers, then hoof it back to the Big Top for the evening talk. After some good prayer and worship, it's back to the marquee for campfires and fun.
And you get to do all that again, tomorrow, with your St Luke's family.
CAN I CAMP WITH ST LUKE'S?
Absolutely! That’s what we want! Please, please, please tell us you want to camp with us! Sign on before July and let us know you are coming, so that we can book the biggest campsite possible. Do that here: email@example.com. Even if you do register for Focus, we only see that list once a month, so let us know immediately. :)
WHAT'S THE CAMPSITE LIKE?
There's a large marquee that we use as our communnal hangout zone with our "kitchen". We'll have a refrigerator or two, snacks for everyone, and this is where we cook and eat together as a family. Around our marquee, everyone pitches their own tents. We try to set up a volleyball net and have a play area for the kids as well. We do charge a small fee to be on the campsite to offset costs for the marquee and supplies.
IS THERE FOOD I CAN BUY AT FOCUS?
Get that cheeky takeaway. There are so many food vendors available in “The Village” with lots of options. There’s coffee spots, pizza, fish & chips…. you know the drill. It’s a smorgasbord, Templeton!
WILL ST LUKE’S BE COOKING TOGETHER?
You bet! We’ll sort you for breakfast and lunch, which you’ll trade us for some money and extra rota duties. We’ll try to sort the menu sooner than later. However, please decide ahead of time if you’d like to subscribe to our catering. There are a lot of moving parts to feeding all of us. Sign up for that St Luke’s meal plan: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS. AM I GOING TO GO HUNGRY?
Absolutely not. Please let us know what they are, and we will work with you to make a plan! Especially let us know if you have milk preferences, so we can consolidate our camp’s selection.
CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD?
You’re also welcome to bring your own food. Please keep in mind we will have limited storage space, but this is also an option.
WHAT’S A ROTA?
Oh, let me tell you! Everyone camping with us will have rota duties to keep the campsite clean & tidy for everyone. Our gazebo and campsite are our family home for the week, and it’ll be our job as a family to keep it comfy for everyone. If you’re subscribing to St Luke’s catering, you’ll also be placed on a cooking rota.
I'M AN INTROVERT / EXTROVERT. WILL I BE OKAY?
Everyone will be okay. We love spending time together as a St Luke’s family, but you can make what you want of your day! Everyone makes their own breakfast, and there’s usually a little gathering of people reading quietly. Then we’re back together for lunch as St Luke’s in the tent. The rest of the time, decide what workshops, talks, and activities you’d like to do. We also try to walk and sit together in the big top for the talks.
WILL THERE BE VOLLEYBALL?
AND ICE LOLLIES?
We got you.
